In the process it's digital easier, faster, more reproducible.

wagnerRegistering the bite sounds so simple. And yet, taking a bite registration is a highly complex step that involves defining the lower jaw – which can move in three dimensions – in precisely one position in relation to the upper jaw. This is key, because the required dental product is then made in this exact position in the articulator. But what happens if it isn’t possible to precisely determine this one key position? This is where the teamwork between dentists and dental technicians reaches its limits.

And as in many other areas, digitalisation can be extremely helpful in this situation. So why use analogue methods to generate a bite registration in this day and age when a digital approach can make it much easier and safer?

Here at theratecc GmbH & Co. KG, we dedicated 10 years to conducting intensive research on this topic together with our partners, including Chemnitz University of Technology. It’s fair to describe our results as pioneering. This is precisely why the development of this patented 3D technology received funding from the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM) set up by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the European Union.

Thanks to this new sensor technology, the required centric relation in the mouth can be captured in 3D, displayed on a tablet and transferred immediately to a reproducible bite registration in the mouth.

You can count on our concepts for bite registration – backed up by over 10 years of experience in research and development. Use the Centric Guide® 3D for your working routines and plug one of the last analogue gaps in the digital production process.

Indication

Digital bite registration for all ranges of indications

The patented Centric Guide® 3D system allows for intuitive, pioneering use as either an analogue or digital tool.

Lower jaw movements and the ideal centric area are clearly displayed in the Centric 3D software and can be transferred immediately to an analogue or digital bite registration in the mouth. The sophisticated concept covers all indications in dentulous, semi-edentulous or edentulous masticatory systems, making this a very cost-effective solution.

3D sensor

Capturing lower jaw movements in 3D

Centric Guide® 3D is the first system that captures lower jaw movements in 3D directly where they occur – in the patient’s mouth. The patented sensor technology offers high-tech capabilities in an incredibly compact design. A total of four sensors are integrated in the cross-slide table. A pneumatic stopper system also makes it possible to block the cross-slide table in the centric relation for the bite registration. These are just a few of the features that make the Centric Guide® 3D probably the most innovative digital support pin registration method in the world.

e-Box

Clear design and performance in one

The e-Box features a simple white design on the outside combined with a multicolour LED bar. The LED bar uses traffic light colours to display the system’s status.

All signals from the four sensors in the mouth are processed inside the e-Box. Data from the sensors are transmitted to the e-Box 25 times every second. This high volume of data makes it possible to visualise all movements of the lower jaw in the software in real time. What’s more, this extremely large amount of data guarantees that the subsequent bite registration can be reproduced with ease.

software

Intuitive software for safe and easy use

The new Centric 3D software is based on the comprehensive experience we have gained in over ten years of software development and application. The result is a software solution that’s intuitive for you to use and easy for your patients to understand.

Thanks to the option of choosing between guide and expert mode, you can use the system safely for any application. In guide mode, a wide range of short videos and animations give you step-by-step support. Regardless of which approach you choose, the Centric 3D software ensures you can complete the job safely.

Benefits

pioneering and reproducible

As the user, you can clearly determine the centric relation of the lower jaw and transfer it immediately to an analogue or digital bite registration thanks to the three-dimensional visualisation of all lower jaw movements and the innovative stopper system. Any misalignment of the lower jaw can be displayed and diagnosed in the articulator.

The bite registration forms the basis for all subsequent treatment steps and can be used to prepare custom occlusal splints as well as making a new prosthesis. This lets you take targeted steps to avoid follow-up work on the bite.

Studies have shown that bite registrations with the Centric Guide® 3D provide a reproducible method of retrieving the centric relation, including restoring a functional joint cavity.
