Review of theratecc | Kopftage 2018
On the 28th and 29th of September, the first theratecc | Kopftage was held at the beautiful Schloss Eckberg, a wonderful backdrop in the picturesque Elbe valley with views over Dresden and a history of dentistry.
On Friday 28th, the symposium started with various workshops. In the evening, all participants were invited to a gala dinner followed by a party in the castle’s own wine cellar. The artists Carlo and Nicki, who came all the way from Italy, provided the perfect entertainment. With live music, good food and wine, there was plenty of time for a lively exchange of ideas and some action on the dance floor.
Main program on Saturday:
On Saturday, there was a total of eight lectures on the subjects of digital bite registration, the possibilities available in modern dentistry and other topics. The speakers, among others Dr. med. habil. Volker Ulrici, Dr. med. dent. Tom Barthel and Dr. med. dent. Nicol Thiedemann gave an insight into their everyday practice life using wonderful pictures and excellent comments.
PD Dr. med. dent Jan-Frederik Güth demonstrated a convincing and practical concept for the rehabilitation of abraded dentitions using the Munich splint concept. Using spectacular pictures, he whetted everyone’s appetite for beautiful teeth before lunch.
Dentist Martin Kühsel also presented his study on the reproducibility of Centric Guide®, conducted over more than five years under the direction of Prof. Jakstatt at the University of Leipzig. The study came to the clear conclusion that Centric Guide® ensures a consistent, very high accuracy and a reproducibility of 0.01–0.02 mm.
Dr. med. Marco Tinius, a specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery, inspired the participants right after the lunch break with his lecture about craniomandibular dysfunction, which will surely be remembered for some time.
The closing highlight was Gerhard Conzelmann with his lecture “Get out of the rat race”, in which he impressively demonstrated how ourselves and our thoughts often get in our way and, above all, he gave valuable tips on how to cope better in this fast-moving era and thus successfully escape the rat race.
Conclusion
According to many participants, the 1st theratecc | Kopftage was an all-round successful symposium. Their view was that theratecc’s concept – a symposium in a “family” atmosphere, with no industrial exhibitions, and instead promoting a lively exchange of ideas – had been more than successful. The extraordinary location and the wonderful autumn weather also added to the positive impressions.
This is why there will be a 2nd theratecc | Kopftage in 2019. When? On the 20th and 21st of September 2019. Where? Schloss Eckberg in Dresden. With this is mind, we look forward to seeing you again, and all those who didn’t make it this year are more than welcome in 2019.
